Don't call it a comeback...

Alright friends, I'm bringing the blog back. Well, we never really did away with the blog it just sort of...faded. So, since I'm paying for the site and paying Justin to keep maintaining it (not really, I bought him a beer once and I'm still riding that 'payment') so I figure why not use it so I can ramble on about what ever I want to.

So, here goes: What have I been up to? I get asked that a lot, and as many of my dozens of fans know I test quite a bit. Okay, a lot. I'm sort of a utility man at CGR right now since one of the Nationwide teams closed down. Testing, spotting, this and that. It's fun, and keeps me busy. The bad part is I'm away from Mandi and Grace a lot and miss things. For instance, I'm at a test right now (the guys are making a big change, so I decided to write this while I could) and I just got a text from Mandi that said "Your daughter can clap now. So cute!" I missed it, and it sucks. But, being gone is better than the alternative of being home all the time cause you're out of work which a lot of guys are in this business right now.

I enjoy what I do. The test team guys are a lot of fun, and they work like dogs. Everyone at CGR is trying like heck to get our program where it needs to be. These CoT's are quite a bit different than the old style cars, and you gotta think outside the box on some things.

I'm also spotting for Josh Wise in the #22 Nationwide Series right now. Armando Fitz called and asked if I'd practice the car at Nashville and Kentucky for Josh, who was in the 99 practicing for David Reutimann. Muscial chairs at the race track. So they asked at the track if I'd spot the race for him. I said sure, and apparently Josh liked my style of spotting so he asked if I'd finish out the year with him. So, on top of the testing for CGR, and the spotting I do here and there for them, I'm spotting for Josh also.

I'm getting hollered at to get back in the car. The boys are ready to make another run, so keep checking in (or just sign up on the mailing list, you get a quick note when ever we put up another blog.) I'm not going to have a set day of when I'll write one. When I get a thought in my head about something I wanna ramble about, I'll write it and it'll go online. They'll be about anything, so stand back and wear your safety goggles.

Gotta go, I'm getting a dirty look from the crew chief...

I know that I've been behind on my updates and I apologize, so here you go...

Life just keeps getting busier and busier for us. With the added CTS races in the #4 truck for Bobby Hamilton Racing he's been gone every weekend for the last couple of months. I'm definitely not complaining though - bring on more races anytime! I've only missed one race this year - Kentucky a couple of weeks ago. That was tough, but my good friend Jessica came over and watched it on TV with me. It's never easy to be at home while he's racing, but having friends around makes it a lot better, so "Thanks Jess!"

Milwaukee was a blast last weekend. Kevin's birthday was that Friday and the garage closed early, so we were able to go to a Brewers baseball game with some of the guys from the team. We had a great time and they won! Saturday was really busy since it was a one day show - practice early, qualifying and then the race. It sure makes for a long day, especially since I had an early morning flight back to Charlotte Sunday morning. Ughhh, but I made it thank goodness!

Well we're off to Memphis this weekend and I'm really excited. Maybe we'll even have some extra time to check out the city!

P.S. I also want to thank everyone that has sent out their congratulations and well wishes since we announced that we're expecting. It means so much to us and we'll be sure to keep everyone updated along the way!
